It’s August and that means kids are beginning to head back to school across the nation. In some areas, kids are already back in class. In others, that won’t happen until the beginning of September. But there’s no arguing that school supplies are on the minds of parents right now.
Stores tend to focus on everything from clothing to backpacks for Back to School, but one category often left out is sports bags. If your child is in school sports, they’re sure to need something to carry their gear around in. Whether they need a versatile duffel bag or something sport-specific such as a lacrosse stick bag, purchasing a new sports bag for the new school year will help ensure that your child is ready for practice and games.

When someone mentions backpacks, what comes to mind? School children with book bags?
Maybe you think of a bunch of different images. That’s because backpacks are truly a versatile type of bag. Even packs designated as “school bags” can have multiple uses including travel and sports.
There are, however, types of backpacks designed for specific activities. Hiking backpacks are a good example of this. Other examples include bat backpacks, hunting backpacks, lacrosse backpacks, ball bags, and hydration backpacks.
Below are some examples of the more unique backpacks tailored for specific sports and activities.

When you belong to a sports team you know that everyone has to pitch in and carry the gear. Basketball bags are one great way to stay organized and make sure that the balls used for practice won’t get dirty or dinged up on the trip. Most ball bags are very simple, with a zip pouch container for the ball itself and a sling strap to carry, but some even have features like a handy mesh side pocket to hold a water bottle or two as well.
Traveling isn’t the only time you can use a basketball bag. If you play a lot of games on a local, neighborhood court, it is convenient as well. Hang it by the door and it is ready to go when the call comes that a game is on. The bag is also an excellent pick for children and teens, allowing them two free hands and helping to insure that the ball doesn’t get lost or mixed up with someone else’s at the end of practice.
These bags don’t have to be totally reserved for basketballs either; they have multi-purpose function. They can double as a simple carrier for a bag lunch if you are going on a picnic or as an away bag for your child if they are staying overnight at someone’s house.

Your young basketball fan will be proud to wear this Original Ball Bag NBA Team Junior Jersey Backpack. Made from authentic material, the kind the actual professional players wear, this pack is lightweight and meant to fit children ages 4 through 14. There is a team logo on the exterior pocket and the official NBA logo is on both the front and back of the bag as well.
Some outstanding features this bag has include a cell phone slide pocket with Velcro, a plastic identification slot and a small exterior pocket. The zipper pulls are little basketballs, which is a nice touch as well. The large compartment is naturally meant for the ball itself, and the straps adjust to fit so that the bag is able to be worn “backpack style” with no problems.
Kids’ backpacks can serve double duty as a small, stylish pack for women as well. NBA bags can color coordinate with your hiking outfit, or you can choose one based on your favorite team. If your child likes a different one, you can always get one for each of you. And you don’t have to carry a basketball; the internal compartment is perfect for tucking away a few small items if you’ll be out for the day doing errands or a bit of shopping.
