Fashion duffle bags are usually referred to as weekenders. That’s because they are generally used for overnight and weekend trips. But that doesn’t mean you have to use them this way. Cute duffels make wonderful women’s gym bags, carry-on luggage, and more. Since these bags are versatile by design, you can use them for just about any purpose you’d like.
Below are just a few of my favorite fashionable duffels:

After work and classes, I like to go to the gym and break out a sweat. But, because of the transition from work to work-out I’m usually caught carrying a plastic bag full of my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and a hefty change of clothes.
So, I decided to invest in a gym duffel.
Which is how I was introduced to the world of women’s gym bags. And oh what a large world it is. As a girl with an appreciation for style and individuality, I was a little bit surprised at the oh-so-many different kinds of duffel bags that I found designed especially for women.
I found some of my favorite duffel bags under the very familiar brands of Nike and Puma,
both of which have duffel lines made for women.
Nike specifically had a Sport Exotic Premium Club Bag that looked more like a fashionable handbag than it did a gym bag. A feature that hardly undermined its versatility in space and efficiency.
I was also pulled-in by Puma’s Plaid Grip Bag. Though it looked more like a duffel bag, unlike the Nike, I felt it still had a feminine touch to it. And its design meant enough room for both my change of clothes and gym items.
So if you’re looking for a reason to hit up the gym, I would check out some of the latest duffels for women. You’ll be able to carry a sense of style with you no matter where you go.

There’s always something nice about curling up with a bowl of popcorn and popping in an old black & white film. Maybe it’s the nostalgia for a day in which people wore gloves and hats out in public. Maybe we miss the Man’s Man or dogs named Fido and Rover. After all, there’s something to be said for the old-world elegance of red lipstick and perfectly coiffed curls. And who hasn’t fallen in love with the adorable dresses that were everyday wear?
I always got a kick out of stories from my grandmother about how people used to get dressed up to go to the airport, that when you flew you wore nice clothes for the voyage. It seems a world away from the slouchy sweats and goofy travel pillows I see draped on exhausted travelers who are waiting to board the last leg of their trek across the country. While I may not be willing to forgo the comfort of my yoga pants it’s still possible for my luggage to reflect a bit of that retro-style.
Check out Mellow World’s flowery rolling duffel and while you’re at it why not break out the pumps and bust out a song from Dino or Old Blue Eyes?

Yes Yes, Lacrosse season may “technically” be over. But for us enthusiasts, Lacrosse is a year-round sport. Being a middie myself, I though I might give all you lacrosse junkies the heads up on one of my favorite lacrosse bags, the Under Armour Midfielder Backpack. Perhaps one of the more versatile lacrosse packs, the Midfielder can be used as an everyday backpack as well as a lacrosse specific pack. The pack sports a mesh water bottle holder, fleece lined media pocket, and a stick sleeve. The bag is super durable, and if you are anything like me, your lacrosse bag takes a regular beating. All in all the Under Armor Midfielder Backpack really puts its money where its mouth is.

Yes, I am referring to Athalon’s duffel as a “he.”
You see, I’ve always been slightly biased against duffel bags since I saw (and consequently fell in love with) the Lindsey Lohan remake of “The Parent Trap” as a child. You see, in one of the opening scenes, her duffel bag gets thrown into the bottom of a dog pile of the strange packing containers and after that my subconscious must’ve attached the ideas of “duffel bag” and “getting-squished-to-death-retrieving-your-stuff” and never managed to completely recover. And it didn’t stop there.

Any camp movie was enough to make me think cabins, bug spray and duffel bags. Be it 1995’s “Heavyweights,” or the Olson twins’ “It Takes Two,” I still can’t get the image of stacks and stacks of duffel bags being loaded off of buses out of my head!
Now I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a phobia, but I was always the kid who chose to take a wheeled suitcase or who stuffed a backpack so tightly the zippers sometimes exploded rather than resorting to the classic duffle.
Over the last few years I’ve started to understand that duffels do not have to be synonymous with luggage mountains or the sports duffels of traveling soccer teams in matching Adidas warm-ups.

Yet I had never met a duffle that caught my eye and called out to me. That is until I was wandering around the office and bumped into this little fella who decided he was not going to blend in.

Nope, this duffle had a swagger from day one. And that’s why I love him so.

Traveling from the office to the gym can be done with style…carrying a leather duffel helps this seamless transition! Classic styles in high-quality leather are a great investment. Not only can they be used for the gym, but also for short business trips, weekend getaways, or even day carry-alls for where ever you may be headed. Although they are a bit pricier than the usual nylon options, they will not only last, but also get that great worn-in look!
